Brookhaven Darien. Right now says delivery between 4-5Pm today is available  they use Door Dashers to go and pick up the items. Did it yesterday and it worked great! Go to their website to directly order and choose delivery. They also do pick up.

@fetch Kane I work right there that may be a good option! Thx
by (1k points)
No problem! They also had a majority of the things I needed in stock!

Marianos does curb side and delivery. As does Caputos.

If you do Walmart they open up slots at midnight. I stayed up last night just to schedule our pickup for Friday. I also opted to do a curbside order at GFS rather then go into Costco (the parking lot always seems so busy still). That was easy and I ordered last night with pickup today. Thankspically I use instacart for Aldi and get same day delivery (which may differ depending on your location).
by (420 points)
@newish Costco is only allowing 75 people in every 15 minutes! We went there one day last week. So you wait in line outside until it’s your turn to go in.

I've had luck with Jewel website directly, log on early in the morning and check the farthest day out they will allow, usually about 5 days, grab a delivery time then complete your cart. I received about 80% of what I ordered (rest was out of stock).

@fetch I’ve been trying through Instacart but I’m gonna try through their website now

@act ugh, I’m sorry ☹️ it’s crazy how quickly they book up. I got a time at Mariano’s for Friday that I had to reserve a week ahead of time. I hope you find something!

I looked at 6:45am this morning and Instacart had a ton of openings. Went back later and nothing was available. So I’d try first thing.

You can usually find a time at Walmart. It might be a couple days out. Check first thing in the morning. The only thing is they are always out of chicken. I got lucky yesterday afternoon and got a date for next week at Mariano’s. Also check periodically during the day. It’s a struggle

I ordered delivery from Marianos through Instacart. I just loaded my cart and kept refreshing. I found an immediate opening at 3pm and had the groceries by 5. I would just say keep watching for an opening. They open up!
by (1k points)
@outgeneral971 great advice ❤️
by (3.4k points)
@act I also left a 20% tip. I have read that it helps to leave a good tip because they see that before they take the job! Plus, I do appreciate not having to go out these days!

Keep signing on and seeing when they have openings for delivery. My delivery date was five days out from when I delivered and it opened up when I checked in. I also have done SHIPT it’s been good or Mariano’s pick up or Instacart. I ordered from Shwanns for the first time

Marianos uses Instacart technology and I got my groceries in 5 hours other day. I should actually state, my wife did. She was connected to her phone looking for openings for a bit.

Meijer has a good but slow website. The shopper contacts by text when he starts shopping. He sent pictures of items to substitute. Our experience was over the weekend so I can't know what it's like now. We did pick up in Bolingbrook.
by (1.3k points)
@jahnke Weber, I tried using Meijer for pickup and the first time I got charged for items I didn’t order and the 2nd I didn’t get my order at all and was charged for it anyway. Just a heads up.

Target in Naperville also does delivery to your car for groceries
by (4.7k points)
@thermosetting cold stuff too? I’ve only been able to do dry good, but never bread or pasta.
by (710 points)
@eyelash yeah, that might not work. Sorry.
by (4.7k points)
@thermosetting I do love their car service though! It’s been such a great experience. Their home delivery has been awesome too. I understand how cold stuff would make it more difficult
by (690 points)
At Walmart - you can include cold items - - - I got milk, butter, and lunchmeat (from the deli).

That’s what I’ve found to be the best too! Get on right at midnight though and make sure your cart is already full because the site won’t let you add like before.

GFS in Aurora by Fox Valley does pickup. I ordered last night and scheduled my pick up for 8 o’clock this morning and was ready on time.
by (2.6k points)
@offutt Latowski Korte really! Is that online or did you call or thru instacart? Thanks
by (2.3k points)
Online- and the store was very empty amen. I’m avoiding big box stores and superstores - trying to limit contact and stock for 2 weeks without multiple stops. This worked.

Fill up your cart in the Walmart website or app then check back in right after midnight and you’ll find available pick up times. They tend to release them around that time of the night. The service is free and tipping’s not allowed but I sneaked a $20 bill to the employee who loaded up my trunk.

Instacart at jewel and check right when you wake up. My mom just kept trying and trying Wal-Mart- she just got one. I heard right after midnight or first thing in the morning. Try to team up with someone- like a neighbor. I’m doing that with my mom so then we can both try and then add stuff to the cart that we get.

Instacart. Usually delivers same day. They will bring groceries straight to your front door. It's a bit more expensive, as there is a tip involved, but overall much safer than going to the store.
by (440 points)
No luck in last 3 days.
by (2k points)
I usually keep the Instacart window open on my tablet and keep checking availability every so often. An opening of delivery within 5 hours will suddenly pop up. The times I've noticed it opens up is between 8-11am each time.
by (900 points)
Amazon Fresh tend to open up around 5am - 7am for delivery slot checkouts.

Those of you not having luck with Instacart. Click on flexible delivery and then the next day click change delivery time. I’ve been able to get my groceries same day that way every time. Just gotta mess around with it and keep checking.

Instacart is the best! Numerous stores you can choose from, you can become a member or not- you just have to pay for the deliver fee then. Monthly or yearly membership, very user friendly and you don’t have to be a member of Sams or Costco to shop from those stores either.

If you have a friend/family member outside of Naperville, try using their address for delivery. Seems to be a naperville issue, my wife was able to get groceries next day from instacart delivered to our family in aurora and we just plan on grabbing it when delivered direct from their driveway. Not as convenient as home delivery but better than going into stores currently.

@professor I cant get delivery until next Tuesday. When did you get the same day option to work? I think, for me, it’s just a busy time. Bad timing on my part.
by (400 points)
@sherrer Colbert Keefer I filled my cart in the evening. Then, sometime between 8:30-9:30am the next day, I refreshed the page and selected my preferred delivery time. Had my groceries by 10:30-11am. I did it through Costco’s website.

Walmart, they opened more pick up times today. Just try to look early in the morning, that’s usually your best bet to get a reserved time. By 9am they’re gone.
