What does Bolingbrook have that we do not? If they don’t want 1500 jobs in their area, Niles should contact Amazon and see if WE have an opportunity to get them. Think of how our community could benefit. (restaurants, stores, gas stations etc) It could create a lot of revenue. Along with the FedEx terminal it would be great for us!

I think it would be attractive to Amazon to have one of their carriers in close proximity and in close proximity to the interstate.

I don’t think there is enough space anywhere in Niles. Have you seen the new warehouse facility they are building where Maywood Park used to be? It’s absolutely enormous

@firebug781 Last summer I walked to Walmart and back from Waukegan and Howard. There’s several abandoned warehouses down Howard that I cut through and you should see the shit people have dumped. There’s loading docks with clogged drainage systems that are now pools of oil, garbage and whatever anyone didn’t want to pay to remove. There’s space. Might not be all grouped together but a lot of business do satellite stores now

The could use Golf Mill as the package hub! There’s plenty of space and room there.

@augury not nearly big enough. Have you seen their distribution warehouse in Kenosha?

@sphinx build up then. If you can’t build it larger, build taller?!?

@diarmit I’m sure that would mess with logistics having to use an elevator or go up and down stairs.

There is an Amazon warehouse in Morton grove and in Skokie. They might not consider us because they need to spread out a bit for the drivers

They don’t pay taxes and require a lot of infrastructure improvements. I’m guessing they cause a traffic nightmare to. Not worth it

52% (ish) of society doesn’t pay taxes. My initial post was to make us think of what will benefit us as a township. Is Amazon a freeloader if they provide opportunity. No! They give by creating. The taxes in Illinois from the people that work with them will cure the lack of their business taxes that we could impose on them.
