I’ve been watching covid-19 news mostly on CNN which always seems anti Trump, Fox news seem pro Trump, where do you think news are unbiased? It’s not a time for politics, we just need the facts. and what do you watch for local news, WGN channel 9?

Why not watch the press conferences and form your own opinion? It’s there for all to hear. Why let the media tell you what they took from it?

Follow what the scientists are saying. Dr Fauci & Dr. Birks The rest is hot air.
by (300 points)
The problem is that we don't get to hear from them often enough because Trump steals the mic.

@amor45147 I agree. The silencing factor of Dr Fauci by Orange truly angers me

@poucher6960 dr Fauci said he is not sequestering him at all so you made that up ‍♀️
by (530 points)
@flood that is true. However, why has Pence asked him to stop talking to CNN? Seems a bit controlling
by (1.6k points)
@poucher6960 where is that info?
by (1.6k points)
Source please
by (530 points)
@flood our local media is actually doing a very good job: ABC 7 and WGN. I don’t watch the cable networks
by (1.6k points)
@poucher6960 that has no date on when this happened they report it like it just happened. Look further that was in feb when the committee was formed.

@flood listen, you believe what you want. Stick to the MEDICAL evidence.

@flood Here are 10 key ways that Trump has let the coronavirus pandemic get out of control Refusing to take responsibility for his response to the pandemic. Trump doesn't believe he's responsible for how they are dealing with the crisis. Shutting down the White House pandemic office. Trump closed the White House's National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Bio-defense in 2018—despite briefings starting before his inauguration about the threat posed by pandemics. Ignoring intelligence warnings. Trump ignored dire warnings in January and February from U. S. intelligence agencies about the coronavirus pandemic, downplaying the threat and blocking necessary preparations. He also stonewalled inquiries from Congress in early February. Failing to test. Trump failed to mobilize the government and private sector to establish testing early on to contain the spread of the virus. Dr. Fauci calls the lack of early testing "a failing" of the U. S. response. Failing to procure medical supplies. Trump failed to marshal the powers of the federal government to procure the medical supplies and hospital beds needed to meet the scale of this public health crisis. Spreading lies and misinformation. Early in the crisis, Trump said that the coronavirus would simply disappear. Then, he promoted a risky antimalarial drug as a treatment, with no evidence, accused governors of not needing the equipment they asked for, and accused health care workers of stealing. Appointing Mike Pence to run the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Pence has a history of skepticism and denialism around science and a record of poor response to public health crises as governor of Indiana. Blocking access to health care, which puts all of us at risk. Trump and his Republican lackeys in Congress refuse to pay for coronavirus and COVID-19 medical care—except for testing. But even the testing provision is full of loopholes, with reports that people are showing up at hospitals to get tested and then getting billed thousands of dollars. While the tests are free, the emergency room visits are not. Favoring governors who are political allies when distributing lifesaving medical supplies and pitting states against one another instead of distributing supplies based on most urgent need and fostering cooperation. Failing to have competent experts to manage this crisis. Trump and his administration are incompetent, and, people are needlessly dying. There is tremendous turnover in key administration positions, many are left unfilled, and people are often unqualified for their jobs.

If you don’t want a slanted viewpoint left or right watch the briefings. Watch the White House updates, the Gov. Pritzker updates and CSPAN. Get the story from the source everyone is editing it from.

The least biased news I find are on CNBC during market hours. I like Cramer. The BBC website has very good info on the Coronavirus. They collaborate with John Hopkins.

Watch anything but CNN if you want accurate news. I usually watch CNBC or Fox.
by (590 points)
@pile10 CNN and FOX really can’t be counted on for accurate news. Both are propaganda channels for their respective parties.

Watching strictly CNN or Fox News is never a good idea. It’s good to have opinions you share with others, but it’s much better to know you don’t fall all on one side or another. I’d heavily suggest going to the middle!

Watching CNN it’s like hearing always that the world is coming to the end. They never have any positive news always negative

It can be tough for sure. I’m a CNN guy but I do indeed watch FOX for the “other perspective” and I think that’s been important to do. And for me, I think the biggest thing is not to fall for the headlines from any story or outlet and to make sure I know the context of things that are being reported.

The thing I wish most from ALL news outlets, is more coverage and information about people who have fully recovered from this. Even those who were very sick but didn’t need hospitalization.

Wow! CNN. You must be very depressed, they never say anything positive. I learned to filter commentators from reporters. I don’t want anyone’s opinion, I want News pure and simple. Unfortunately there are not many reporters now days.

Listen to the briefings. Everyone had a bias. Even when they say they don’t. Listen to the briefings and form your own thoughts about what is going on. And I promise when you watch the news report on it you will notice how things are reported and what is added or left out.
by (360 points)
The White House has a page that has all the briefings. That or C-Span.
