Anyone have advice for treating pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy? I'm a runner and the pain is really bumming me out! My belly band helps a bit and I'm trying epsom salt baths but if anyone has recommendations, thank you!

Yes, physical therapy. I’ve been having pelvic pain for the past couple of months (currently 35 weeks). Just had my first session of pelvic floor PT today. We worked on the positioning of my body while standing, walking, moving in other ways.

@rhythmics5765 Yay for PT! I loved my PT when I was pregnant with L. I called her “the Pelvis Whisperer”

@compensation49 yes! I’ve been thinking about what you told me about it and finally got a referral - though I suppose I could have referred myself.

Carrie! I saw her privately but I’m not sure if she does that anymore. She’s extremely knowledgeable and can definitely help. She also recommended a chiropractor who literally saved my ability to move.  Dr. Chang (I wasn’t a fan of her partners so I’d only recommend her) the Western Springs office was less than 20 min from us in Forest Park at the time. https://www. bibchiropractic. com

Collagen helped me SO MUCH. I used a powder that I added to a smoothie every morning. I also walked frequently and that relieved the pain with a really good maternity band. Good luck and solidarity.

I also did Chiro adjustments, especially at the end, I feel for me it helped my pelvis be in proper alignment for giving birth. It’s hard to hear, but this is temporary, it will be better

@joell24 I can’t remember, probably lots of the activator just because you can’t lay on your stomach ‍♀️

@philo and @joell24 you actually can lay on your stomach and we have a special table and pillows just for pregnant women. Watson Chiropractic

Definitely PT. Also, I dont know if you are still running but please dont run while pregnant, or at least listen to your body. I ran all the way through my last pregnancy and it caused horrible Pelvic floor dysfunction and SI joint dysfunction. Totally not worth it for the cardio. You can switch to the elliptical for cardio and give you back hips and pelvis a little rest.

Yes, phys therapy. Find a pelvic floor specialist, likely. Start now, ask your doc to keep it going post birth. Sorry for your pain! The PT will help. My chiropracter also helped for some of my discomforts. Both docs at Celar Chiropractic were helpful for me during pregnancies.

I got some Blanqui tops and these helped support the belly and it helped immensely.

Sorry you are experiencing this, I had it too and it’s so hard. I did a combo of PT and chiro adjustments, specifically a Weber method chiro. I went to Bucktown Chiropractic and saw Dr Estelle. She is wonderful! The constant pain did go away as soon as I gave birth if that helps! ❤️
