I highly recommend having a real estate agent come through and show you what would attract buyers. Fresh paint, cleaning out closets, and staging well are always great starting points. Feel free to PM me if you need help from an agent, I would love to help.

I started with decluttering. (It didn't go well, we have a lot of stuff! ;) ) But I agree with talking to a real estate agent (we used The DeLeo Real Estate Group) who gave us pointers on what we should and shouldn't do. They advised us on what to spend time on and what not to worry about.

I had our agent come through and tell us what should be done before we listed. Also, we rented a storage unit to declutter. We only had it for about 4 months

De clutter and depersonalize. Nice neutral paint on the walls. Update bathrooms and kitchen as much as you can, since that’s what sells (paint vanities, get neutral counters).

Declutter. Don’t hire a realtor that isn’t going to use a professional real estate photographer. Make sure to look over any contract you sign with an agent. I wouldn’t agree to any more than 90 days at a time.
