Whenever my son talks back to me I ask him, "would u talk to your teachers like that"?! I gotta think of something else to say now.

I used to say that to my daughter too. Her answer was always no.

Mine is, “would you talk to your dad like that” - he doesn’t answer me. But, I know the answer. LOL

I would model a proper response then set the times for 5 min and “redo” the conversation allowing the child to get it right the second time.

Omg my mom said that to me all the time and I’d respond with uhhh no. Don’t worry-you’re doing it right! He’s just being a turd for you but a perfect angel for everyone else!

I’ve told mine that I’ll fail her and make her take the same grade next year if she don’t quit her shit. All her friends will move on and she won’t. She don’t know I don’t have the power and it’s worked so far
