We are highly considering homeschooling our kids. What curriculums does everyone use and why? We will have a 4th and 7th grader but she would be taking all 8th grade classes so I think we would just do 8th grade curriculum?

I'm looking into American School and they are based out of Lansing, Illinois. You can either do everything online or you can do it paper-based and mail it in. They teach K-12.

What you pick very much depends on your personal goals and preferences. Do you want a religious curriculum? Literature based? Classical? Complete open and go, or something that you put together the different subjects? All online, computer/video based, book based? I would look at Cathy Duffy reviews for a start. Her book has some helpful questions for figuring out what your philosophy of education is, and what curricula might align.
