Question

Has anyone done Ancestry DNA before? The kit? My husband has always wanted to do this and his 40th is early May. Thinking of getting this for him? Any feedback is great? Just wondering how long it takes to actually get the kit in the mail? I want to have it in time for his birthday May 7 but I don’t want it sitting around, I don’t know how soon we have to return it.

We did it! It took about a week I would say for the kit and a month or so for the results. We ended up finding my moms 1/2 brother that was put up for adoptions that no one knew about. We now have a great relationship with him, and his family!

It was fun. My husband and I have done it. You don’t have to rush it back, so I’d order soon. It’s very obvious what it is, though, so if he checks the mail it will be hard to keep it a surprise.

Yeah it was enjoyable. It's neat, they keep getting new days which solidifies the results further. You better order now.

I did it. It didn’t take long, maybe a week to get the kit. There’s no time frame to send it back. Just know it’ll take a minute to get results. Mine took about 3. 5 weeks to get results back. But worth it!

I did one at Christmas. Found it very interesting. Took about 6 to 8 weeks for the results to come back

I did My Heritage. Mostly because they gave free tests away to adoptees a few years ago. For me, it was super interesting because having been adopted, I didn’t know anything.

Some Walgreens and Targets carry 23 and me tests .

My daughter, husband, mil, fil and one of my sisters did Ancestry, kits come quickly and results in about 3 weeks, definitely recommend

I did it, it did take forever to get the results back but was really cool!
