Moms who have had a birthday parade for their kiddos. How did you get OPD or OFD involved? Thank you!

Governors executive order of “Shelter in place” still in effect. No non-essential travel. This is to keep as many people off the roads as possible. If there was any kind of accident then they would have to respond and everyone is at risk. Not meaning to be a party parade naysayer but it’s In everyone’s interest not to have these.

The Village posted that they are doing a caravan since they cannot honor requests for birthday parades. Let me see if I can find it.

Maybe while they are doing the caravan in your area you can have your birthday child hold a decorated posterboard that says something like, "It's my birthday! " or "Birthday Boy" (or Girl) or "I turned 7! " (or whatever age). Maybe the group will honk as they pass your birthday child.

@tumbling91115 Maybe even have your birthday child have a helium balloon tied to his or her wrist to catch even more attention to the caravan to notice the birthday child.

Adorable idea to do a birthday parade! I was thinking of doing something similar for my oldest who turns 6 in 2 weeks. ❤️❤️

@tumbling91115 I think it’s crappy that Oswego won’t do the parades! Yorkville just did Makinlee’s on Monday. We had 3 squads with lights and sirens! It was the highlight of her birthday! My husband works for APD and they’ve done them too!

@bushwhack90619 I think they’ve done them, I’m assuming they’re just getting too many requests! I watched Makinlee’s video it looked SO fun. Such a fun way to make their day a little brighter during this craziness. ❤️

You can contact the fire station and fill out a request formally and then they will let you know the day of if they can make it or not
