AmVets of IL is also a great option. You schedule pick up online for clothes and household items. I had a pick up scheduled the day they shut down. ☹️

@bodwell I had a pick up scheduled for the day we shut down too. I’m wondering if they are doing pick ups yet. My pile is growing.

@blood82 I just checked their site and scheduled a pick up on 6/8!

@bodwell woohoo! I have a pick up on 6/9! I can’t wait to get this stuff out of my garage. They may need their entire truck

They do have boxes outside their donation doors, but it doesn’t look like anyone comes out to take it from you.

Someone mentioned the goodwill on Kirk Rd in Aurora has bins out and is taking stuff. Haven’t gone myself though.

Please don’t think about donating to Goodwill. Haven’t heard a word about there doing any good during this time Salvation Army. Yes at Vincent de Paul. Yes. Rethink where it’ll do the most good.

Check with caring hands in yorkville or 3:11 project if you are just gonna give away. They do so much for the communities. Also check with hessed house!

If you put stuff outside Goodwill all they are doing is throwing it out.

Hold on to the donations if you can. Goodwill is for profit. I'd suggest Mutual Ground, Hesed House, Wayside Cross Ministries and Salvation Army.

I don’t have the time or space to hang on to this stuff. It’s overflowing my kitchen counters and garage. If I can’t find anywhere to donate, it’s going in the trash.

Wayside in Aurora is taking donations. Also the donation boxes in Michaels parking lot has room for more. They are towards the back of the lot.

is accepting clothing, etc. and will give you a receipt. I would just give them a call to set something up. It's a great organization with a huge need right now.
