Negotiated lower rates with my cable, phone, and car insurance companies. Negotiated payment plans with debt collectors and will be wiping out debts with 5 companies when I get my tax returns in a couple of weeks. The only debt I'll have left will be my mortgage.

Hubby and I put a strict budget on our grocery bill. We’re actually sticking to it

My wife and I are look at our grocery line as well. This is our largest item, other than Roth's and savings.

@mesotron we set a weekly amount, and once we hit it, no more groceries. It has meant cutting out almost all the convenience food like crackers and lacroix so there’s enough for the veggies, pantry staples, etc.

Bought a puppy, going out to bars & dinner more frequently, playing in more sports leagues & tourneys. wait. disregard. moving in the wrong direction . In seriousness, I did a deep dive into my Mint history, particularly focusing on 2018 & 2019 spending, and found savings opportunities in several of my budget categories. Should be close to flat or spending just a bit more YOY

@vegetation what mortgage company?
by (6.3k points)
@yseulte437 I used synergy mortgage group, a broker, to find the best deal. United wholesale mortgage ended up being lowest. Closing costs were 1% total, no points.

Installed heat pumps and a hybrid water heater to reduce my propane usage. Then I'll be installing more solar panels to cover the new extra electricity usage
