Can someone more tech savvy than myself help me figure out how to un-ruin Mint? I came back to the platform to redo my budget and all my banks now use 2FA. This means that Mint will no longer update unless I spend 20 minutes each time going through multiple text message steps. Help! Anyone?

Use a password manager like last pass. It simplifies the process by auto filling the login

@justus how does that help with 2FA(Two Factor Authentication)?

It simplifies one of the authentications. Also, if you’re on Mac, iMessage on Mac auto fills the 2FA code. I understand it’s not the experience for everyone and Mint should make it work for everyone. But I honestly don’t mind 2FA Considering the added security one gets.

I only have that issue with my mortgage account on Mint not my banks

Same problem here. I dropped mint because of it. I’m not that upset because I appreciate the extra security on my accounts

Your options are to disable 2FA or fill it out. It’s annoying but personally I would rather have the security than the convenience. There are other reasons I am considering leaving mint due to technical issues with accounts and the fact they are focused on making more profit from selling the data than they are making a better product. Credit karma will be heading down the same route.

Also this is a little bit of a separate issue but is anyone annoyed that mint does not let you change, edit, delete, or add main categories for transactions? I am so frustrated by this because I can only add sub categories and I just feel like I am not able to categorize my transactions properly. Plus, I don't need half of the categories so it is very cluttered. Has anyone dealt with that?
