Can someone talk me off the investment ledge? After having invested for a full decade, I find my international investments continually earn far less money in good times and lose far more money in bad times. Why, then, would I dump more money into them to bring them back into a balanced allocation in my portfolio. The Foreign Stock index is up 3. 55% over the last 5 years. The US Bond Index is up 15. 3% over the same time, and the S&P is up 31. 7%. Foreign stock represents over 20% of my portfolio and is crushing my dreams. Because of these numbers, my own portfolio is only up 18. 9%, barely beating out the Bond index, which is really the hedge.
