Times have been tough lately no doubt, but has anyone had any big financial wins lately?

Both the adults in my household are still able to work at home during this time. No fear of layoff or furlough. I'm calling that a huge win for these times.

Paying off 2. 5 credit cards this month! My company is doing 10% bonus per paycheck through the end of the year making it possible for me to pay off debt and save for a home

My wife switched from a salaried social work job to being self employed in December, and is now making more money working 4 days a week. We have also been saving money since we can't eat out.

Threw in my entire Roth contribution for the year at what appears to be pretty close to the bottom. ‍♂️

Taking advantage of the 0% student loan interest and significantly paying down that debt

Thanks to that stimulus check I am debt free and it’s been the biggest relief for me through all of this

Just got my stimulus check yesterday, so using it to keep my buffer high with all my bills due shortly. Once I get paid in a week, I'll have a bunch of extra money to pay off my cards early and pay months of car payments in one swoop.

Finally opened up a Roth IRA and made a $6000 year 2019 contribution early April. It's already just shy of $7000. My wife did the exact same thing

My husband started a job with a government contractor in January. I started one in March with a different contractor. We nearly doubled our income from what it used to be. We feel so blessed.

Up 92% for the year Sold everything and went cash right before the crash and bought in around the time they dropped interest rates to negative. Also paid off both vehicles. However recently lost my job. it’s been a tale of two tapes

My teaching responsibilities are not very time consuming at the moment so I’m able to work my Grounds Crew job 5+ hours/day before I have to be at the computer for school

Actually yes! Sold our commercial fishing operation for exactly what I was asking for it. Invested a nice chunk of money in mid March and am up 60%. Made a large principle payment on our home mortgage and am 3 1/2 years from it being paid off. Financially it’s been a very good few months.

Partially a win, partially luck. Got to go back to work the same week we got the stimulus check so nearly all of it went towards replenishing the savings account

My Amazon stock is doing pretty well. Also working on a mortgage refi that is going to drop our payment by a few hundred a month.
