Question

Wanting to set up a savings account up for our best friends baby. Not necessarily a college fund because we don't want the $ to be contingent on that. What is the best route to go in today's world?

Coverdell accounts are worth looking into. They’re for educational expenses and more flexible than 529 ESA’s.

Thanks all; I was leaning towards Betterment since I do that for my personal use, but will probably end up doing that route. I will research these others because I'm not super familiar with them.
