Need help - has anyone dealt with unemployment and had this happen - -First denied ( my son knowing no better accepts and moves forward trying to find a job - -Then got letter 2 months later that says certify April 29 but letter mailed date on day may 12 (like 2 weeks after certify date) so clearly missed the certify date and now can’t get a human on phone at 100 attempts !? Tried to certify online in his account on ides and called to certify says call ides your past 30 days - numbers don’t add up and I get it’s all messed up but my sons been without since March and I’m trying to help him - Can you only certify on Wednesday ? Does anyone have a number that worked ? Hopeful momma

Yes file again. I did the same for my aunt and she got an answer a week or 2 later

I would try filing again. But if trying to call need to literally have it dialed and hit call at 7:30 on the dot. The only way I got through still sat on hold for 1/2 hour but was only way I got to an actual person.

Try to certify tomorrow. People have posted a number that you can leave a message and they will call you back. I would try this next before he refilled. If he refuses he might only get paid from new filing date vs the original date he filed.

I was up and calling the very first thing in the morning and I was able to get through. Look online and see what day would be his filing day by last name and call on the morning. When I was calling about a month ago they opened up the phone lines at 7:30am because my last name is Wells my filing days are Mon, Wed and Fri. Good luck

@fusible73187 you're welcome. Also just so you know just as quick as they open the lines up because its automatically turned on by the system the ppl at the office turn the system back off. I think it was within 15-20 min and the system went to the we're to busy to help you message.

Call them so they can back date his unemployment date. This is the local joliet office number. Leave a message, they will call you back.

Try to find a form online you can fill out and fax. My problem was fixed within a week.
