For the crafty moms . what brand of vinyl do you use for t shirts? I’ve tried the hobby lobby brand and Caregy brand from Amazon and my vinyl doesn’t stick past the 1st wash. Thanks.

I've tried all types and sometimes it comes down to having a heat press.

Siser! And I’d say it’s just as much about good vinyl as it is about having a good press

I use Siser, they have it at Michaels but I buy mine from a supplier since I do so much and I can get bulk cheaper. Having a heat press is best when making shirts.

@maleki2 I bought the cricut heat press . Do you think I’m not heating them long enough and not much pressure? I’m a newbie to my cricut.

It’s all about the pressure. So with the cricuit easy press you have to really apply that pressure. I had one to use for craft shows but I wasn’t a fan of it. I have much bigger presses now since I make so much. You can find a good reasonable one on amazon. They just take up room as the easy press can be put away.

@maleki2 that makes so much sense. Here I was thinking I could make my own shirts

I’m sure you will do just fine. I must say Jess & I will def be sad to lose you as a customer though. We loved helping you with your orders. ❤️

Siser. Vinyl spectrum is amazing and way cheaper then the box stores.

Also, you need to have a lot of pressure. While the quality of the vinyl makes a big difference, even the best vinyl will peel if not applied right.

You need a heat press if you're going to wear it multiple times. Especially if you want to sell. I also use siser easyweed and get it from a place in Lisle.

Hi! Siser or thermoflex is the way to go. If you plan on selling, definitely go for a heat press! The easy press is cool but it just can’t apply the pressure that the press can,

I use siser only. It’s the only brand I found that lasts. But I agree you need a heat press and not the cricut one. I order from a supplier too or from the lisle store. There’s also a store in Niles I use too and use their brand of vinyl which I find works great too. Cricut brand anything besides the machine is crap in my opinion! Good luck!

@funderburk6 totally agree, love my machine but everything else sucks and is incredibly overpriced
by (3.8k points)
@karleen yup. And sometimes with DS I get so mad and wish I bought the “other” brand machine! Haha

@funderburk6 which heat press do you recommend?
by (3.8k points)
@nourishing I can send you the link to the one I have. Let me find it. I got it on amazon
