Yes! January 3rd. I’m not going to lie, it was rough the first week, but all of a sudden, one day the pain was like gone. Also I feel sooooooo much better now! And the scar isn’t too bad. My doctor recommended silicone scar strips and scar cream.

I found the easiest sleeping position to be sitting up with a pillow over my shoulder for my head to lean forward on. That was the only time I felt comfortable to sleep.

@bonnell yes, depending on your job. Looks like a bunch of others had no problem. I’d say day 2-3 were the worst. I was doing light cleaning day 3 because my husband went back to work after the weekend. My surgery was on a Friday. But I was still sore and wanted to sleep a lot. But like day 6-7 the pain disappeared like the snap of a finger. It’s not like you’re down for the count, because you can still get up and move. Just really sore.

Just had the whole thing removed 3 weeks ago. Worst part was extreme fatigue.

I have had the whole thing removed. I had mine done three weeks after giving birth and honestly the recovery was not bad at all. I never needed pain meds. I did take Thankslenol for the soreness in my neck. It felt like sore muscles from working out almost. Other than that it was fine. Certain sleeping positions can be difficult from the soreness.

I was tired from sedation the first day when it was done but after that it was just slightly sore for a few days. I was right back to cleaning house and taking care of kids the next morning. Lol

I had mine completely removed. It was so big, it got stuck. Throat area is sore do have lots of soft foods. I slept in a recliner for the first few days. It wasn’t bad though. Scar is not too bad but use the scar creams right away.

Can I ask why you needed to get it removed? I just got test results with thyroid antibodies at 1465 U/ml but a “normal” thyroid and i’m not really sure what to expect from here on out

@bonnell I have a 9 mm nodule but she said the size wasn’t big enough to big concerning but my antibodies are just through the roof but no one from the doctors office is communicating
