A friend of mine is a breeder and her bunnies are amazing! We have one of her lops! She socializes them so they make great pets! Check out her fb page. She always posts pics of her new litters! Lemme find the link and I’ll share it!

I had a rabbit for 12yrs growing up. He passed when I was 23. My bunny was litter trained and lived in a cage. But would always manage to miss the litter box (sitting on the edge) or fling litter out of the cage when it hopped around. The litter dish would need to be thoroughly cleaned every 3 days or so. Their urine has a very strong smell. We frequently replaced the plastic litter dish bc we couldnt get the smell out. He was a sweet bunny. Loved to cuddle and hop around room (with supervision) because he would chew on everything if you let him. Consider rescuing a bunny if you decide to get one ❤

I had a lop previously and currently have a mini rex. They aren’t any more difficult to care for than other small animals in my opinion (hamster, Guinea pig). Yes, the litter/cage needs to be cleaned frequently or it will smell pretty darn awful. Litter and poop will get kicked out of the cage. If you litter train them to go in a box instead of the whole cage the cleaning is easier. They are active at dawn and dusk so keep that in mind. They also need large cages or frequent exercise outside the cage. They chew EVERYTHING. my husband does not like my rabbit because she’s done some damage lol. But they are very sweet and love to cuddle. They like to play with toys and can be social. They’ll come up to you for petting and do big hops in the air when they’re happy. We would put mine in a harness and take outside for walks. Feeding is easy, they eat Timothy hay and pellets, and daily greens will help keep their gut healthy too. FYI, we found out my husband is allergic to hay—not the rabbit itself but the hay they need for digestion. Something maybe to test for before committing.

They shit a LOT. So train it to go in a litter box or something. If you dont change the poop daily it smells and you may get flies. Also they are MOST active at night. Running in circles, springing in the air. But otherwise can be out and about. So cute to feed and pet and cuddle.

We have one. He’s litter box trained, but does tend to have poop and litter fling out of the box when he jumps out. We change the box maybe every 3-4 days and with the right litter (we use pine pellets) it doesn’t smell. They need a larger amount of space than most people think. They shed, a lot. You need to find a good vet with exotic pet experience. My 9 year old is in charge of daily feeding, but I do most of the cleaning. She’s hopefully going to start taking that over soon though. Let me know if you have any more questions

There's a lot of bunnies up for adoption at the Will County Humane Society. Keep that in mind before you buy ‍♀️. I worked in the pet trade for 10 years and there's always a lot of people who go out and buy bunnies around Easter, only to end up handing them over to a rescue 3 months later. It's a sad cycle.

Love my little “bun bun” yes it can get messy but I do not use the corner litter box, i use a regular container that gives them room and I do not have any messes in the cage. I just recently changed to a higher container which help the litter to stay in. Change the litter every three days. But I do vacuum around the cage and inside every other day just to keep it perfect for my liking.

We go through Aimee's Rabbitry as well! We just brought home our little guy about 2 weeks ago. I followed all of Aimee's instructions on her website and we have been MORE than pleased our new little guy! He is extremely friendly and loving. My girls are 2 & 4 and just love their bunny. I clean the bottom of the cage every night which takes 10 min tops. Empty the litter box and disinfect another 10 min. My 4 year old helps. Our little guy doesn't poop outside of his cage hardly EVER. And we have him out and about a lot. It is a lot more work if you are caring for them properly but oh so worth it. Even my husband has been super impressed with the interaction of him!
