Opinions please.  looking to put doors on my office.Opinions please. looking to put doors on my office. I have a rustic/farmhouse/boho style. Do I. 1. Buy white interior regular French doors (or another color/style). Knowing that the doors won’t open all the way and may annoy the shit out of me. 2. Buy a barn door? Knowing the barn door will cross into the little section on the left (while open), possibly make me feel like a prisoner in my office (or make me feel like I’m on a vacation) and might not match the wood floors. I’m so confused! What do y’all think?
Opinions please. looking to put doors on my office.

Get French doors with only one side open I think the openness we'll make the room look bigger. Everyone's getting the barn doors and they are going to be out of style eventually

@pigling I don’t think so. I think the trend will be around awhile much like the natural wood was a fad for a long time.

You could get barn doors with windows so it doesn’t feel so dark

Pinterest had some cute ideas. I would do a barn door that has some glass so you dont feel closed in. I also like these.

You don’t want to match woods in your house. So the Barnwood door should be stained a different color. What about antique doors? I like the window idea like above poster said.

Here are a few from Pinterest when I searched antique office doors.

@chambertin94 Now I want an office so I can do this too  My husband and I own a remodeling company and we love when customers go off the beaten path.

@carliecarlile I have always loved this look! And love all things within this style. I was wanting to hear and see other options as I was kind of in a creative rut

@chambertin94 Now you can help me with mine . I have a half wall in my kitchen that I need some kind of texture on because it gets beat up by kids and dogs on the way outside. I already have a Barnwood wall in family room.

I would do French doors or even a vintage/farmhouse double screen door. Unless you’re outing the doors on for it to be quiet then that may not work. It would add a little character and keep with your decor though.

Go with French I think it opens up the room. I think we've got a similar look in a sense from another angle.

I love barn doors so I would probably do that. I would do double ones that slide to both sides. And you definitely don’t have to match your hardwoods. We have hardwood- not as red as yours and then our barn door is a darker stain.

@sandpaper I love that! Thanks for sharing!

I would do French. Give the sense of a window to look out to and gives more light and won’t feel boxed in

I would do french doors unless this is your forever home. barn doors are a fad. Not everyone is doing this whole “barn/rustic” style.

I think that French doors would be nice since it would complement the closet doors to the left. I think barn doors would compete with the closet when open. And I love the barn door look. Plus you absolutely have the space for French. And you would always be able to see that lovely decor!

My opinion: barn doors are fun and new BUT they will overpower this area. And it will look like a lot of doors in your hall. You will also need to remove your nice decorations. So regular white glass FRENCH DOORS . But measure carefully as your current opening may be too small!

Pocket doors are nice because when open, you don't see them.
