Anyone done the Dells with a toddler? Worth it? Which resort would you recommend?

Following as I’m right now debating between a 2 bedroom condo at glacier lodge/wilderness or a lakeside waterfront cabin at Kalahari

@thrippence glacier canyon is great. I have been to Kalahari and I think with little ones you would enjoy wilderness better

@refrigerate thanks so much! I really like the idea of 2 bedrooms and more space, especially with a 2 year old and 5 year old. Kalahari cabin would be just 2 queen beds, like a basic hotel room. Same price for both!

@thrippence we love glacier canyon and stay there often. We eat Bfast in the room, go to the water park, eat lunch at restaurants and come back for dinner in our room. I always prep everything at home so I basically take the ziploc that has preseasoned with olive oil and herbs and dump in a pan. I do the same thing for precut and seasoned veggies. This makes easy dinner. Healthier too! Love staying there.

@thrippence definitely glacier we stayed in the winter. It was nice. I have older boys and they love it there

We’ve always loved taking our kids to Great Wolf. Great for the little ones. Fun activities, story-time at night and great splash pad/pools for them

We just took the girls for the first time over this past NYE and had VERY low expectations because you know. toddlers. And omg it was such an amazing time for all of us! We spent two nights and it was perfect, seriously the most fun we have had with them to date. Went to Great Wolf Lodge.

We did the Wilderness last spring. My girls were 2 & 3 at the time & loved it! There’s a few different indoor parks & plenty of fun for all ages.

We go every year. Multiple ages. Wilderness sucks with a stroller just FYI.

Been MANY times. I loved the Kalahari for littles. I just felt like I wasn't stuck in one section and there was multiple places to go with them. 3pm cookie decorating is fun too. They also have crafts near the water park. Their outdoor park is fun too. Great Wolf is okay, the clock storytime is fun there. Wilderness is too spread out and I felt stuck, but you get a bigger room for the money.

Great Wolf Lodge is amazing for young kids! And for older ones too. They have a storytime and all sorts of kid activities for all ages

We love wildnerness. If you can afford the “wilderness on the lake” condos, they have their own indoor and outdoor toddler areas with less people and it’s perfect

Kalahari is perfect! Plenty to do and not a lot of walking like the other parks.

Kalahari for sure. I’ve been to all the major resorts in the Dells and hands down the Kalahari is so great for all ages, especially toddlers. We went there in May one year. Stayed for 4 days and the weather was cold and rain almost the whole time. We barely left the resort and still had plenty to do and plenty of food options. We only left one afternoon when it was nice to go horse back riding.

Wilderness! Specifically wilderness on the lake is ideal for under 4 but all of the areas are amazing we go to the dells 3-4 times a year have tried everywhere and consistently choose wilderness over anywhere else! You can find amazing deals on people renting their time shares on craigslist for cheap!

Kalahari. We took our son as a toddler and still had plenty to do without leaving. Less walking than wilderness.

I read this fast as “has anyone done well with a toddler? Worth it? Would you recommend it? “

@kerrykersey566 3 out of 5 stars - little hellions, will ruin your things and make your hair gray but they’re super freaking cute and make your heart explode. It’s a bit of a roller coaster tbh

@succedaneum my youngest (of four), who is three, makes me question it all!

@kerrykersey566 I read it that way too and thought in my head and thought I’m so done with my teens, I feel this lady

Wilderness is great but if you get one of the multi bedroom rooms be prepared to walk and walk and walk. We never minded but people with little ones might. All the parks are pretty far from those rooms.

I would say the wilderness but it’s a lot of walking. If you want something smaller great wolf is nice!

We love great wolf lodge in Gurnee! Super close and a perfect fenced off toddler area with splash pad and little water slides. Once our kids get a little bigger we’ll take the drive and splurge on the dells.
