Car question ?  I need a bigger car.Car question ? I need a bigger car. I have a terrain now. But Has anyone had both. The newer and older model of the GMC Acadia ? I had the older style (twice ) and this new one seems smaller Is it ? Thanks

We just bought a 2020 palisade it’s big and you get a lot for your money. Unfortunately I had a Chevy traverse and I will never buy one again with all of the trouble I had with mine.

@scholz95 oh no : ( what year was your traverse? I love the look of the palisade but is the third row as roomy as the traverse? What about with rear facing car seats in the second row?

@aestivation1 I feel like the third row is very similar to the traverse as far as the second row I have captains chairs! Honestly as far as the traverse goes it was a 2010 so I believe that was the second year of the traverse and to say that we received a lemon would be an understatement. I had more things go wrong on that car that I’ve ever had go wrong on any car I’ve ever owned! I’m not normal wear and tear stuff stuff I’ve never even heard of on top of a new transmission!

@aestivation1 Of course! We actually just bought ours Monday and I absolutely love it but again I was also driving a 2010 piece of junk at that point but it is a very nice car for the price tag!

You can Google the dimension specs on the year of cars you're trying to compare. Not sure what years/generations you're trying to compare, but it does look like a 2016 Acadia is bigger than the 2020 model. Also, there are tons of car comparison/review videos on YouTube! I hope that helps you a little.

The new model of the Acadia is much smaller. I have one of the old models but when I need a bigger car (in the next year) I am going to have to bite the bullet and get a Yukon.

@nitroglycerin I always wanted that but if that doesn’t drain my money. Gassing it up will. No car besides a an XL will be big enough for me with all 3 rows and good trunk space with third row up

If I do get one, I will have a hell of a time parking it. I am awful. I don't drive too far normally but the increase in gas will stink either way.

I did. The older Acadia was a bit wider in the back, I lost about 6 inches. Not a biggie , except I haul furniture all the time. Now I'm limited to 42". Other than that, the Acadia is great , I go to Woody in Naperville, their service is amazing and they drop off a loaner for oil changes

We have a 2020 Traverse and the seating area and storage behind 3rd row is amazing! I can fit my double stroller no problem plus other items! Interior space is huge too.
