Last night with little to no wind my doorbell motion alerts kept going. I believe it went off every 40 minutes or so until 5 am. We were able to silence it on the phone but it still played through the Echo Dots that are throughout the entire house. Very frustrating, any idea why this kept happening? I almost took the battery out.

You can turn alert settings on or off in the app and you can also snooze alerts for up to 4 hours at at time.

Just turn alerts for motion and rings off. Or snooze for a long time.

@antidisestablishmen this defeats the purpose of having the alarm. We’ve had a series of car break-ins. I want to be alerted if someone’s out there. Also when I silence it in my phone I still get the alerts through the Echo Dot.

@aurum69 then turn off the dots, or take the doorbell off them so they don’t all chime, or turn down the volume? I sometime get frequent alerts when it is really windy etc.

@antidisestablishmen/activity" class="qa-user-link">antidisestablishmen it wasn’t windy that why I was asking why this was happening. I have a Spot light in the same area that gets a larger view of the yard. I didn’t get one alert from that, just the doorbell. Turning off the Dots also defeats the purpose. Sorry @antidisestablishmen/activity" class="qa-user-link">antidisestablishmen but you’re not helping.

@aurum69 I’m sure something was setting it off. Some of mine if I really have to look super close to figure out what it is. The steam from my clothes dryer vent will set it off sometimes or other odd things.

IF wind is out of the SE, smoke from chimney sets off notifications in our floods!

@quell I get alerts from my spotlight cam sometimes from the clothes dryer vent steam.

Why don't you post some of the "alert" videos?

I have a routine to turn on do not disturb on all Alexa devices if this happens.
