Constantly having trouble with my doorbell draining battery. So my question is can you hook it up to any small solar panel as long as it’s 5v output? The location of my doorbell would not receive the best sun so I’m considering running a panel from the roof. Thanks

I’d think you’d want to address the root problem of why it is draining so quickly.

good point. When I say constantly draining I mean not getting anywhere near the stated use time even with low motion and no live views.

No removable battery, right? That would be the original.

Is it cold where you live? That drains the battery quickly.

haven’t had much luck during winter or summer. It’s currently rolling into autumn here in Australia.

Can you hook a solar panel straight up to the screw terminals on the original ring doorbell or does the solar panel have to connect via the micro USB port?
