I wish there was a way to set my ring to open the app whenever someone rings the doorbell. Cause by the time I unlock my phone and get the app to open and WiFi to connect the person has already gone. Just takes too long to get the Ring app open . But I also downloaded the rapid ring app and it's faster but every other Time I open that app i have to reconnect it so it's no faster. Or is there a way? Just curious if anyone knows how to help. Thanks

Just downloaded the Rapid Ring app and it does seem to be faster. Never heard of it until now, my question is why did they develop the app? Couldn’t they just speed up the original app?

@dormeuse2 no, because rapid ring is nothing more than just loading the camera. The original app has all of your settings to load, so it's a bigger app for your phone to try and start up, and then it has to load the camera on top of that.

It does that with the last update. You just have to enable it.

@catlaina79. It does?

@colbycolbye it doesn’t do that on iOS. Don’t know if Android allows that but no app on iOS can open without you actually doing it

@rohn4. How about on Android?

Connect it to your Alexa show and it immediately shows the doorbell

@departmentalism4757 doesn’t do that with mine. I heard they were phasing in the rollout. I have a Show 5 and it’s sooo slow by the time I get the alert to opening the app.

@diathermic I will try to explain how I did it. Spend an hour try to figure it out and a lot of googling. 1. Disabled ring skill 2. Reenable ring skill 3. Screen came up allowing me to link my ring account to my alexa account. 4. That should add your doorbell to you echo devices. 5. Go to devices in the alexa app find your doorbell and turn on “all doorbell press announcement”. Good luck.

@departmentalism4757 yeah just tried that. No new settings under the doorbell. There’s supposed to be an announcement to select the device to show, which I don’t.

@departmentalism4757 see no option to select the Echo Show.

@diathermic My RVD pro shows on my Echo show and I don't have any option to select it on the echo show. I posted in another thread here on how to get it to work. Doorbell press and enabled should do the trick.

@pentosan53231 just tested it. All I see in the screen is Announcement, someone is at the front door.

@diathermic same thing I have on mine. I did nothing to get it to show on my echo show automatically.

Yes I noticed that the Rapid Ring app has logged me out twice today. What’s the point?
