Anyone have the home alarm system? What is the monthly cost and is it linked to a local dispatch center? Thank you!

The professional monitoring is just like every other company, they call you first for everything other than CO2 alarms(those are automatic dispatch), and if you don't answer, or tell them you don't know, they contact local authorities

*CO, not CO2.

@hartzel the chemical formula is CO2, but I didn't have it copied and pasted for the proper 2, so

Correct, that's CO2. That's not what is monitored though.

@hartzel ah, see that I didn't know, I actually don't know what is monitored specifically

CO, carbon MONoxide.

@hartzel oh yeah, that's right. Guess I got them confused

Everyone does, I used to as well!

I've had the alarm since they released it. if you already pay for the protect plus plan then your professional monitoring will be included in that same cost. If you don't currently have the protect plus plan then it will cost either $10 per month or $100 for the year to get pro monitoring. If the alarm goes off then they will call you and/or dispatch local police.

I agree with @pentosan53231. Have it in 2 homes and really like it. $100/yr for each home is cheap.

I switched from Simplisafe, Ring is much better and cheaper. $100 per year and covers all of your cameras.

I pay the $10 a month which covers the professional monitoring & recording on all my cameras. Have had the Ring Alarm for about a year, works great and have had no problems with it!

My contract with Frontpoint is ending and I would have to buy all new equipment which offsets the $40 I pay them a month. I can buy all new ring products (already have doorbell and 2 flood cams) and the $30 difference a month will pay itself off in less than a year

@protist944 have you checked if you can use the Ring retrofit kit and convert your existing system?
by (570 points)
@pamela I haven’t but will now. Thank you
by (570 points)
@pamela looks like the retrofit is to replace wired systems.

@protist944 sorry, didn't know Frontpoint wasn't wired

$100/yr with Ring. Previously was with Spectrum. Paid $32, glad I switched as Spectrum ceasing security as of February

I'm in the UK. This $100 a year, is this the monthly charge that's paid to have the footage from the cams held on the server for 30 days? That's the only option I believe I've got here in the UK. So far I've got a video doorbell and that's been installed for a few days but until a couple days ago, only just managed to get the cable bits required to mount the floodlight cam in the back garden, just the weather has been extremely bad and today looks like the day it'll get set up.

$100 a YEAR, not month. If you do it monthly it's $10 per month but otherwise yes to your question.

Yes - aware it was year - just changed it - thanks for pointing it out - was a "mind typo"
