Does the Chime Pro extend your wifi to a camera like it's supposed to? Worth $50?

I’d probably go with a mesh system before using it. We had one and it really didn’t work very well.

There was a new one that was just released, don’t know if that provides better results than the original one.

I have the new one and a mesh system - it allows me to reach the furthest camera out, the only one of 7 - without it the camera was a little dicey! Plus, I love the available tones and nightlight!

I had one that came in a ring kit I bought. It definitely works. I put it in my garage. I previously had no wifi in there, and now I have wifi in the garage and my basement. I've only had it about a year, so I cant sat how long itll last (considering a lot of people said itll only last 2 years)

I got one free from ring but I WOULD NOT pay for one. Mine's currently unplugged because it is so temperamental.

The thing about WiFi extenders are they cut the available bandwidth signal in order to extend it.

I bought a chime pro when I got my floodlight. I had to try it in a few places before I found the best placement. With that said, it has served me well for over 2 years. In addition it gives me an alert tone in my house. Which is handy because I sleep with my phone on silent.

I have 4 Doors and 7 windows to access the home. Chime pro let’s me know if someone is walking in one of them or compromising security with a friendly “bloop bloop” as the door or window is opened. I have a pool and kids so it’s my first defense when a door or window is open when I’m home. It works through the ring alarm and the retrofit kit. The doorbell is also tied to it, so we know when expected company has arrived. Best thing about ring is that little bloop bloop.

I have google wifi which works on mesh technology. Everything works fine without the chime pro extender. I do have an extender, but I don't use it as an extender, I use it as a chime. So I'm paying for something but I don't really use the full functionality. Still, I like the chime each times one of my cameras has an alert. When I hear the chime, I check my app. It's less annoying than all of those notifications on my phone. Or if I don't have my phone on my person.
