Question about night vision on the cams. Is it actually better quality and you can see the person captured by ring if you allow the night vision to operate in the dark vs have some outdoor lights that come on with motion, and then the ring captures the people without the night vision?

Night vision is mostly black and white, I find it has faint color. I'll post pics. With and without.

Hm. So if someone were to walk past that left pillar and toward the side of your house do you think you'd recognize them better with night vision or lit with lights?

@ironstone2 probably lit with lights. I have a motion porch light. I also also have a cam on the side of the house with batteries and solar panel.

Okay. All we have is the ring doorbell. I want to be able to see clearly who might come in not directly in frint of the ring but they'd likely be coming from the other side of the wood gate and Into that gated area on the patio where we have a slider. Since its a little far away I probably need a motion light over there.

There's no way to setup the doorbell so it is more zoomed in I imagine

@ironstone2 no set up, only zoom during live view or recording.

@appellate you mean zoom in during playback of a recording. Okay. Wish there was an HD version LOL
