I want to go against Google. I want to disobey Google. And, I want to break the rule. I want to see how an EMD reacts in SERP. So, all I want is to conduct a case study on EMD ranking by implementing everything that Google suggested. As a first step, I bought an EMD to build an affiliate site targeted to Amz. Anyone has any suggestion that may help the case become more relevent and effective? And, How do I record the case? Is it only the implementation methods and the shown effects after implementation? Or any point you wish me to follow? Expecting comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I don't normally do this - and I do encourage people to experiment - but the death of the EMD in Google search results is a complete myth.

Would be interesting to see if you still rank if other sites use that and you remove that text from your site.

@cofsky Haven't done much work on the site in the past couple of years but it's survived all SEO attacks so far (knock on wood). I'm not feeling experimental about dropping the phrase from the title and such. Technically, all domain names become EMDs if they accrue brand value. That's an effect, not an algorithmic rule.

I see EMD's ranking a lot. As with everything, the effectiveness of it depends on few factors. The biggest one is the niche. EMD in some niches looks too spammy and untrustworthy on the SERPs, so users are avoiding it in much greater percentage. On the other hand, in some niches it is totally fine. People don't care. The more YMYL the site is, the less effective the EMD is.

Google has no rule against EMD, so what rule are you breaking?
