RunCloud is a server management website, it basically let's you get Ubuntu server ready for production in few minutes, automatically. I have been using it for few years already. Here's what I can say. Pros: - Support is fast and helpful, even of you are on free plan they'll help - Good UI with lots of useful features - Apache + Nginx setup with Php-fm, best for performance - Server monitoring - Multiple PHP versions + easy to configure PHP settings from RunCloud panel - One click WordPress install and WordPress cloning for testing (added recently). Cons: - Most features are NOT available on free plan, even many basic features - You can only have one server on free plan - Their WordPress caching plugin doesn't work well - Sometimes logs cleanup doesn't work ‍♂️ - No own SSH console Honestly, no many cons if your are on paid plan, if you're on free plan then you are very limited and can't do much from the panel.

Also you can host several web apps on one server, haven't tried it.

Have you tried the new caching setup? It's working flawlessly for me.

Runcloud is fine but spinupwp. com was faster with my tests. If I had to chose gridpane is run by professionals and would go with it.

@kaifeng for me it wasn't working, haven't yet tried latest updated version. Did you actually get better speeds?

@tail33848 so which one do you recommend? Gridpane

@irksome I did get some pretty decent speed improvements and sub 200ms TTFB

@irksome yes, Gridpane is really optimized and well worth the price.

Not using runcloud, but using one of their competitors dedicated to WordPress, Gridpane.

I need for both, for PHP native sites and WP.

@legroom fair enough, have heard decent things with them and serverpilot which I believe can do both php/WP. My experience so far with something like this is solid, but it’s not fully managed so you are on your own if you have site issues/downtime compared to a typical hosting provider. With that being said you have far more control over your servers as well as getting a lot more performance for the price compared to a traditional hosting platform. I use a gridpane with a Vultr high-frequency VPS but many utilize similar services with Linode or Digital Ocean.

Also using Gridpane with vultr high cpu VPS. Speed is amazing. Runcloud doesnt even come close.

I use it. I got about 30 VPS’s running WordPress and PHP apps in them with no issues so far. Works great

Talk to Patrick Gallagher at Gridpane and never look back.

Gridpane works with non-WP / static as well btw

Yea, GridPane is solid. I have a couple WaaS’es in there and moving one from RunCloud to GridPane this weekend. Highly recommended

I have tried GridPane in the past and it's highly optimized and works great. Not good if you plan to have hundreds of sites on 1 server though.

Sorry, a bit late to the party on this one. So is this basically a hosting panel of sorts that interacts with multiple servers?

Yes, been using for multiple servers for quite a while after switching from Serverpilot. Support seem good. Easy to quickly set up and manage servers. Their new caching feature for Wordpress is pretty awesome.

Ploi. io is another one I've been playing with. I like it a lot but not quite ready to make the switch from Runcloud.

I know it's not really the same thing, but we are using . It does a GREAT job of managing multiple servers for us, allowing us to quickly provision all sorts of stuff.

Gridpane is a lot more expensive. I am building a new woocomm project and decided to trial runcloud for the build, time will tell if we need to change but runcloud looks like it does everything we need (until it doesnt)

I switched almost all of my sites in February to Runcloud from Cloudways. I'm running both PHP apps and WordPress without any issues. - The ability to use the new Vultr High-Frequency servers is nice. They've been the fastest that I've tested in the US with wide availability in most markets of the world. -Different PHP versions per web application, as well as different web server configurations per application, is a nice touch too i. e. native NGiNX only vs. Hybrid NGiNX-Apache. -Support was quick to respond and fix a minor issue on their caching update. WordPress caching is great on their platform. WAF from the control panel is coming end of the month or next. I've manually configured 6G rules for NGiNX without any issues so far.

I also like their file editor. It has code markup visible, so tweaking files in your web app is easy to do on the fly as well.

Also using Gridpane. I tried them all. They are the fastest but not very polished panel. Support is very good. With a 6USD Vultr VPS you get a server that can handle a lot of traffic and has redis caching. Just install autoptimize and enjoy much faster speed then what you get with 90% of premium Wordpress hosting services. Also has staging. The only thing that needs to get better is backups. (they are working on that)
