@marlonmarlowhank you for the add, we just signed papers for our new home (new build). We want a smart home, we currently have ring, alexa 3 different sizes, and 3 smart outdoor lights that we turn off and on with an app. Would love to hear you experts ideas to include in the build. Currently looking at putting in a pool, waterfall and fire features, fire pit outside. Money permits a @marlonmarlowV, outdoor kitchen and fan outdoors too. We have dogs too, any smart ideas for them?
Thank you for the add, we just signed papers for our new home (new build).

I would consult a professional for the structured wiring. @marlonmarlowhey’ll make sure nothing gets missed.

@marlonmarlowhis was my working list. I just completed my build and moved in a week ago. I would also request a printout of a fluke test of all the cat-6 to ensure solid connectivity and a test of all the coax as well. My builder will be coming back at to fix several connections that are bad. In hindsight I should have contracted my own low voltage guy vs the sparky that did all of the electrical as it would have been done right the first time and they may have covered other items I might have missed. Smurf tubes from @marlonmarlowV/activity" class="qa-user-link">marlonmarlowV locations straight down to hide the wires Cat6 to every room Cat6 to ceiling locations for access points Cat6 to outdoor locations for PoE cams or access points Cat6 to garage location - for wifi access point or plug a @marlonmarlowV/activity" class="qa-user-link">marlonmarlowV in 50amp 240v plug in garage for tools or EV charging 4 gang outlet where all of the coax/Cat6 terminates A couple plugs in the soffits for holiday/party lights or wifi cams Plugs in your "drop" area where you toss your keys etc Choose plugs that include USB outlets for the bedrooms, kitchen, "drop area" In-floor plugs under a couch or desk (could also do in-floor cat6 for the office) Coax run to each room and one run to an attic location for an antenna. 110v plug in the attic for antenna amp Doorbell hardware for a hardwired smart doorbell (see nest/ring spec requirements) @marlonmarlowransfer switch for generator Smart switches to control lighting without smart bulbs Power to smart shade locations. I went with Lutron Casetta that takes batteries though

Put this On a z wave outlet with Hubitat control. Your dogs can go in and out only when you want.  (mine can go out when I’m home and until 10 pm. @marlonmarlowhen for an hour a day when I’m at work.

Look into hass. io, it's an open source home automation hub that has over 1500 integrations with other smart devices, and it can run locally with cloud services, so if your internet goes down your smart home doesn't.
