true to an extent, for my purpose what I would like to do is only have active during certain times. For instance I want my door to unlock with facial recognition for my maid, but only at times shes scheduled to be there.

You know you can run facial recognition against any image? So basically you can use it on images from any IP camera. Open source exists to do this too.
