I am DONE with Netgear Orbi! Fourth AC3000 (RK50) in a row that has become unstable, unable to maintain consistent WiFi connections. The last one went for about a week before it started falling out. Replaced it today, and the brand new one is not even making it through satellite setup before dropping WiFi (repeatedly). Considering switching to Google Nest AC2200, even though their satellites only support AC1200, not to mention that I am NOT a fan of Google to start with. Am I being rash? If I’m going to downgrade, should I EVEN consider giving Netgear another chance with their Orbi AC2200? I have a lot of Netgear equipment because they have always been reliable compared to Linksys and Dlink, but I’m beyond frustrated right now. Open to suggestions.

@bacchius I’m not on the market for mesh yet but I will consider it in the future. I’ve seen Ubiquiti installs in many homes and businesses and these are rock solid.

Same as I was a year ago. Went to Ubiquiti / unifi. Amazing . Went a step further then got full POE switches after . I work in IT and have now sold a few and set them up for Small businesses . Only Cisco prob do it a bit better. But cost is not worth it.

Damn, sorry to hear. i had eero for couple months and it was complete garbage, smashed it one day and switched to orbi and havent had a problem for 3 years. Ubiquiti is known to be the best of the best, if you want to spend the $ for it

@apprehensible just goes to show, I think it depends on your internet service provider and location on how these things work. I can find horror stories for each router out there, including ubiquiti

I have a question I have a Orbi and I’ve just recently started getting 404 not found does anybody know how to fix that
by (1.2k points)
@upshot8 404 Not Found means the resource you’re trying to reach doesn’t exist. More than likely this has zero to do with your WiFi and more to do with the URL you put into the browser.

Orbi works or it doesnt. That's been my experience. I only install eero or google for mesh.

Very interesting. i´ve had mine for 1. 5 years and it never caused any trouble - I only had to uncheck "Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence", this setting seems to disrupt everything.

I had the linksys and they got slower and slower over time and would drop as well. I replaced mine with the eero pro’s and not a single issue so far

Well, I tried Google Rev 2 mesh and it got through setup and install of one mesh “point” and then began failing to install any more point, let alone allowing network access from what was done by that time. So, returned it and moved away from mesh, and tried a Netgear AX8(something), and again failed to install. Checked my modem and cable, and no issues there. Replaced the AX8 with a Netgear AC1750, and STILL no luck. It’s like all of a sudden my network closet is blacklisted or something. BTW, for the Google mesh, it only does the setup via Google Home app. For ALL the Netgear equipment I tried, I tried both their app as well as direct connection to a laptop with a known good cable and looking up  erlogin. net but refused to bring up the config page. I’m starting to feel like the unluckiest network guy that ever lived.
