I recently got 5 GE smart switches.

I recently got 5 GE smart switches. Do I need to get a z wave hub, or will my Echo plus with a built hub work with it?

Echo Plus has a Zigbee hub, but the switches you bought are probably Z-Wave (check the box or manual to be sure--GE makes a bunch of different ones, including Z-Wave, Zigbee, and Bluetooth). If it's Z-Wave, you'll need a hub like SmartThings, Hubitat, Vera, HomeSeer, or any of a number of other options.

@pelpel yup I did get the z wave switches, I did not know the echo is a zigbee hub. Thank you sir!
