Has anyone automated a sliding glass door? We’re building a house and I’ve got the ability to open and lock all my doors remotely except for 2 sliding ones. I’d love to be able to at minimum lock and unlock it from my phone. Any suggestions?

There are projects available on SmartThings using a zwave relay, latch and ZigBee keypad to make it work.

You could use a magnetic door catch I guess, controlled via a smart relay.

If your door is a multi lock type, you cant automate the lock, so you still need to push the handle up.

This is one I’ve been looking at. But it doesn’t really allow you to control it remotely or via voice assistant, it just opens a closes the door.

Go better. Check out InMotion doors. We've installed a few of these.
