No, Alexa doesn’t support Zwave. Get a SmartThings hub

@gaza3 why not add everything to SmartThings?

@gaza3 - I found myself with some Zigbee devices early on, and used Wink to control them (pre-Alexa days). Now that Wink is going to start charging, I'm bailing to another multi-protocol platform.

@viator which is SmartThings, or possibly even better Hubitat (where everything is local execute). Both of those support zwave AND zigbee. Echoes only does zigbee, so you're much more limited in what to buy later on.

@myers991 - Thank you! I thought the Echo devices only supported Z-wave.

@viator Move your Zigbee devices to SmartThings. Add Alexa to SmartThings for voice control Alexa becomes the voice and ears of your home through SmartThings. The automation capabilities of ST are far greater than Alexa routines.

I just looked at SmartThings it can control both zwave and zigbee, when I purchased it from amazon it asked me if I wanted zwave or zigbee, which lead me to think there are 2 different ones

Echo Plus is Zigbee, you will need a Z-wave hub as well.

Yes smartthings. Its both zwave and zigbee no need for another hub. But if you do want a separate hub alexa will work with both.

I have zwave and zigbee, all set up through SmartThings and paired for voice commands with Alexa.
