Goal: Get my nest + yale lock to notify me and/or lock my door when I leave my home if my door is unlocked. It's my understanding the home/away assist within the nest lock is intended to accomplish this, but defintely does not work. Nest has not been helpful in troubleshooting. They've told me to set up a routine using Google home & assistant, but I don't want a voice trigger for it - I want an action taken based on location. Any thoughts on how to do this? IFTTT also does not appear to be an option. Best I can really to come up with with IFTTT is to send me a notification/reminder to lock my door anytime I leave my home.

Can you use ifttt with life 360 for geo fencing then take an action from there with google home?

IFTTT can use it's own location access for the geofencing. But the action is the complication. Yale isn't there. The only nest item listed for action service is Nest Thermostat. If you search Google in the action, you get calendar, contacts, docs, drive, glass, sheets, and wifi.

@twombly sorry I have kwickset and Smartthings so not sure. On a side note those work great together and can do all of that. I do have google products as well, but I find they are clunkier than ST.

Why don't you just use autolock? I have mine set so it autolock after a set period of time regardless.

@neddy40525 I too use the autoock and it’s great. I would just put a contact sensor on the door and if the lock and door are not both closed then alert me.

@neddy40525 because I don't want it to lock necessarily if I'm home.

I have the same lock. It does not play well with others (software). It's really quite limited. Wish I had an answer for you. The only thing that I can think of maybe doing this, is Tasker on your phone. if you have Android

@kym thanks. I have a Google pixel - I'll look into that.
