What are users experience with Fire HD tablets, @cherish4284, and ST? Looking to get a few control dashboards for various rooms in the house in addition to the smaller phones I already have.

They work good for the price. If it's going to be wall mounted, I recommend constant power and Fully Kiosk app. Only way around the screen saver lock for Fire Tablets is Fully.

@shirashirah not the only way around the lock screen, I use an app called Keep Screen On. It’s free too.

@carabineer612 that may be something I have to look into

As above i use a £45 latest fire 8. Works fine with fully, motion detection works well. Dont get me wrong id rather have full android to avoid the lock screen etc but i arnt getting that for £45 new so ye, pretty descent keep installed apps to a minimum as they can slow down , i use fully and tasker to monitor its own battery % and turns the charger on when its need as i never like the idea of having a battery always on charge

@pachton8 how do you monitor the battery?
by (3.6k points)
I use tasker to monitor the battery then you can send a webhook from tasker to webcore . So when the tablet gets to 20% charger comes on, turns off at 100%. Obviously charger is on a smart plug

@pachton8 there’s an app for the lock screen. I have it my screen never locks AT is always on, no DAK no nothing. Just down load Keep Screen On.

I use it but it constantly freezes when I have cameras streaming and a web server with tinycam pro. The camera feed freezes now ST

@pitman9678 the link is for a new version that looks like will have more ram. That would help with your issue.

I have 2 Fire 7” and can’t say anything wrong about them. I have constant power to them with Fully and AT running all the time. To me you can’t beat the price to function value.

This is me also. No issues at all

Even with Fully, I still find my tablets locked; and even after asking Amazon to remove the push ads and crap, I still get notifications for new books and stuff. It's also unfortunately much less responsive than I'd like it to be but I'm with all others, hard to argue the price.

@schecter86 I did something in developer mode which stops the screen lock. I will see if I can find the info.

I'm running a fire 10 hd and recently starting installing actiontiles on it - all seems to be working fine

I have Fire HD7 , 24/7 charging. Running in SharpTools. No problems at all. Fire OS converted to Android (no root, and ROM flashing required) and ads removed. Everything works absolutely fine.

I picked up the 10 at Staples last week for $109! Running SharpTools on it and I absolutely love it. Former Wink user.

The new Fire tablet upgraded the RAM and processor. So that should help with the sluggish response some report. The old one is 1. 3 GHz quad processor with 1. 5 RAM.

Funny since the new 10” Fire tablet was on sale last week for $99
by (2.3k points)
@supine why funny? It's a new model. That F10 has been out for a while now. Put it on sale to sell out of what they have before moving to a new F10?

Hate Fire tablets. Found them to be too locked down to be useful.

I also hate them, too much bloatware and Amazon bullshit to deal with.

@ethmoid would you and @corves46 recommend for action tiles?
