Question

Hi- getting my hub tomorrow and have a question. Switching from Wink and an issue I had with the Wink hub (one of many) was when I had it in my office which is a decent ways away from some of the rooms in my house, the bulbs in those rooms, (or upstairs) wouldn’t work because of the distance from the hub so I had to move the hub to a more central location. Will I have a similar issue with this hub?

Most zigbee or zwave devices powered by mains act as repeaters

Most likely. You need to install a device that would act as a repeater. on the Zigbee side I have a couple Zigbee smart outlets, one that I don't even use just to extend the range.

Setup the hub on Ethernet not Wi-Fi. You are going to need both Zigbee and Zwave routers such as wall switches , plugs and some bulbs do repeat.

I always had that prob with Wink. Paired almost 50 devices with ST this weekend, and never had to move it once. 2-story house.
