You can't record while motion detection (when motion icon is light up), bcs technically at that moment camera is recording.

When in live view there is a record option. My Arlo Pro 2 has it.

Hope you figure it out. I have Alro Pro and can hit record while watching live. I watch my birds too btw ❤
