Show mode dock , with actiontiles is it worth it ?

It is good, but can be limiting/frustrating. Actiontiles really toes the line with standardising/complying with SmartThings (Anyone would think they're hoping to be bought out by Samsung ). They do not support custom tiles, so you may not be able to utilise some custom device handler data/features. They do not support iframes (viewing Web pages as a tile), so for example to display weather you have to do a screen capture/jpg of the data and display that. Their solution is obviously cloud based, so if your Internet goes down then the tablet won't work. But it is a neat solution and can work well

Not needed and expensive.

I think so. We have one in the hall and it gets used more often than I thought it would.
