I bought one button that never really worked for me. I stopped using it.

I find the batteries run out faster than you think. I've had them consistently die and still read in the 40% range making you think they've failed when in fact the battery died.

@sixpack Yeah a lot depends on how often you use them. Basically mine gets used once a day to turn off bedroom lamps so it lasts nearly 10 months the last time.

I have two, got them when they came out. I think I've replaced the batteries once. Sometimes I have to tap them to "wake " them up before they respond but other than that I've had no issue

I adjusted the battery contacts, bending them slightly to make better contact with battery and fixed my problems.

I wish they had a small LED light right on the button that would change colour depending on the button’s state. I could never tell if the button worked and turn the power ON to my device in the basement.

I have 6 of them, love them. They drop off completely without warning when battery drops to a certain level. Other than that, best button I’ve used.

A lot also depends how close you are to the hub or the nearest relay. If you're on the edge of the ZigBee range then effectively the device will have to 'shout' to be heard so will wear down the battery quicker. This also happens if yours or your neighbors WiFi channel clashes with the ZigBee channel you're using (ZigBee and WiFi number the channels differently, so google ZigBee and WiFi coexistence for a chart)

I have one of these paired ok, but never worked. Recently swapped out to the V3 hub from V2 and problems went away, along with various other issues with the new smartthings sensors.

@julietajulietta v3 hub seems to be a bit more zigbee friendly. It is zigbee stack 3. 0 certified were as the v2 is not. I upgraded hubs myself about a year ago, and some of my zigbee issues did go away. Seems a bit more stable.

Try enabling “insecure Rejoin. ” It’s in the Zigbee utilities section. It improved the performance of mine a lot but they’re still finicky. I had one drop off for a week and then come right back up. I’ve also read in another post that certain automations knock the button state out of sync. Meh.
