Is there a way of automatically arming the home monitor as soon I leave home? I have my phone set as a presence sensor

Yes, but with WebCoRE. I don't believe ST routines can interact with the smart home monitor.

I use virtual presence sensors for the same thing, arm when everyone leaves and disarm when people return (and unlock the front door as I like living on the edge)

Thanks everyone for updating me on the fact that both old and new apps can do this too

You can do it directly through st. You don’t need webcore

Been using Life360 for 2 years like the gentleman above and like him mine has been solid and working flawlessly. I also use Life360 to turn on porch light and some house lights when we arrive home after sunset so we dont have to walk into a dark house. Works GREAT!

SHM (Classic app) works with Routines, and can also be handled by webCoRE. STHM ('new' app) works with custom automations. The bigger issue is how well your presence works. For example my mobile presence ('new' app) will often have a delayed response. And by delayed response I mean up to two hours .

Presence sensors are pretty reliable for me, and I also use a script on my router to flip virtual presence sensors based on phones connected to WiFi. I'm just about to overhaul my WiFi (I have two ISPs and need to streamline routers and modems) so might look into doing this with IFTTT on something like a TP Link Deco or Google WiFi

Ok, so based on the OPs question and everyone else's answers being more accurate than mine, I investigated moving my SHM (or rather now STHM) automations from WebCoRE to the new app. Unfortunately it's still not quite there, as the new app is missing some key features. I had STHM disarming when someone arrives home, which meant multiple notifications (WebCoRE you can tell to only disarm when the location mode is "away"). I also can't send any way to stop it from running. I have my WebCoRE piston set to not run if a virtual switch is flipped, for example if there's someone house sitting. ST Connect has not way of doing that. Close, but no cigar! I'll continue to use WebCoRE for now
