Anyone know of an approach to override SmartLighting "power allowance" automations. Example: I have a basement hallway light turn off after 30 minutes. But, if I'm repainting the hallway, I might want to leave it on indefinitely. Is there a way to say "hold" or something? If not, I have to just keep turning it on I guess.

Just change the 30 minutes to what you want in the app and change it back when you are done.

Easiest way is to click on more in the settings and add a condition that won’t be met. That way you don’t have to change the main settings and forget how you had them originally.

@melissamelisse you should be able to add more modes in IDE. I added two for my purposes, Night Vacation and Day Vacation. That way I can have certain things happen or not happen when I’m out of town. So you should be able to create a Hold mode that you can add to your conditions.

This is exactly what I do. I have a mode 'Pause' that I add as an exception to all pistons, routines, automation and rules.

Yes - create a mode for “guest” it stops all automations since most of mine are based on presence.

My bathroom light switches off 15 minutes after motion stops. That would work?

Set different modes. I have home, away and party (which disables automation). I also use a latch bulb in fittings that have multiples, so the automatons work on all but one bulb, if that bulb is on then the automations do nothing.
