My SmartThings motion sensor works fine below freezing. It’s under an eve so it doesn’t get wet.

Batteries and below freezing aren't a great combination but my Arlo Pro 2 are rated to work down to -4 F (-20 C). You not only get motion sensing to trigger things via ST but you get video recording

Check your history and see how often you're picking up motion. If you're getting every car and tree branch blowing in the wind, you may need to change the position. bro! :)
