Is there a way (using echo Speaks, webcore or something else) to make an announcement on a speaker when a specific code is used to unlock a door? I'm using the Rboy lock smartapp.

You can if you have Sonos. not sure on echo, etc. I have one for my mother in law that says, “what are you doing here! ” Haha. in the rboy app it’s under manage users> custom actions/notifications> keypad unlock actions

@hague interesting. I used to have this but you’re right. I don’t anymore. Sorry man. I know it’s possible somehow though within smartthings.

I think what I did is use the “speaker companion” smartapp for the custom message and used the lock management to change the mode. custom message only plays when door is open during this mode. and this mode is “mother in law”

I have my echo announce that anyone of us comes home. Using a presence sensor to trigger virtual switches, then when those switches open alexa has routines that announce You could probably do something similar.
