Hello, I got all my stuff setup on ST today. I was trying to automate my Go Control Garage Controller with life 360, but I am just not finding the right way to do it. I want my Garage door to open when i arrive home, and to close when I would leave the GeoFence Area. I have life360 setup, but I cant find the right thing to make the above happen. Any ideas? Edit: i am trying in the classic app

Create a routine. (Unless you’re new and routines aren’t available)

@crabstick4604 yeah that's what I'm trying to do. I added the life360 from social but I'm not understanding how to make it open the garage door when the someone arrives home. It's probably something obviously stupid I'm missing. Your probably going to have to really to me like a 5 year old because I just can't find what I need

Haha. so first question, how new is your ST setup?

Changed from wink yesterday.

@brough ok. I wouldn’t use the Classic app then. New users not have access to a lot of things in it. Use the new app and you can set this up as an automation from the + menu.

@crabstick4604 but you can't use life 360 with the new app. How accurate is the presence sensor in the new app, I've read it isn't that accurate

@brough works fine for me ‍♂️ I would try it first since everyone’s experience varies based on phone, cell service, etc.

Ok, I am just basing it on what I have read and have no actual experience with it yet. We are not leaving as often as we used to due to my wife being on lockdown (she has an auto immune disease) and me working from home. Will probably test it this weekend. Thanks for the advice.

@brough no problem! In general, with ST transitioning, I’d stick with as many “standard” things as possible. Only try Class or custom things if standard isn’t meeting your needs.

Sounds like you need Webcore

That is a project for this weekend. I sit in front of my computer all day at work so when I get off work I want very little to do with computers/phone, so generally stuff like that happens on the weekend.

@brough no I get it. Same here haha. Though it would be really easy to do with webcore. I would recommend building a location based piston controlling your hubs location mode based on who's home. I use life 360 for location tracking and it works really well. Then I would control the garage based off of the location mode changing to home (could be more specific per person if need be as well).

@optative7488 fully plan on working with WebCore this weekend. Thanks for the advice on how to set it up.

Just use the built in presence sensor in Smart Things for your cell phone. Add you device(s) and then let it manage the switching. Only downside is there is no geo fence its just you're there or you're not. No established boundaries.
