Hi, my son & his girlfriend are going to Budapest next week for 5 days, I was going to buy a 72 hour the hop on & off bus pass as a present, anyone been there and used this? Some sites just recommend public transport as it’s efficient and picturesque, thank you

We just bought a 7 day card for public transport. It covers the metro, buses and trams and costs around £10. All transport is easy to navigate

We used the red Bus tours, took us all round and we also had a river cruise. Ours wasn’t 72 hours though I think it was 48. X

We bought 48hr hop on and off bus with free river cruise when I was out there! Definitely worth it! I’d also recommend booking a table at The New York Café - we just went for tea and cake but they also do afternoon tea and other meals! Beautiful place with traditional live music!

We used the 48 hour hop on/off bus too which included a river cruise. A river cruise is a must in Budapest I would say. There’s a lot to see.

We had the 72 hour bus pass, includes the castle bus, boat plus lots of extras. Well worth the money, but we did make a mistake by getting off at Hero's Square for a lavender lemonade and cake, we missed the last bus and ended up walking 2 miles back to our apartment
