Don't waste your money! Only one ever worked for me was prescription Merida - which was taken off the market in 2011. Not sure if there is a replacement yet.

They may work in the short term, but you can’t take them forever. If they do work (and that’s a big if), you’ll go back to having an appetite as soon as you stop taking them. Much healthier and more productive to focus on a change in dietary habits than an unsustainable quick fix.

Not the place for this. Go to a meeting please! She asked for positive and negative experience, so not sure why some of you are being rude with the comments or emojis? She wants our advice!
by (150 points)
@overlong11 because you wrote this is not the place for this. however we should all feel comfortable enough to ask a question and not be afraid someone is going to tell us “not the place for this” This question has opened a platform for communication, exactly what, I thought anyways, is why we have this group

@azeria sounds reasonable- I was just concerned for her health

Lick door handles and shopping cart handles. Get pneumonia or the flu. better yet get both! Takes your appetite right down to nothing. And as an added bonus you can lose 10 pounds in a week. Trust me, it's been a great month.

You have no idea on the ingredients in them. Absolutely stay away from them and drinks lots of water instead

With this program you won't need suppressants, there is plenty for you to eat

No. Some have had bad side effects for people. Developing a lifestyle of sensible, healthy eating habits (like WW does) is much better than quickie diets or fake products.

They don’t work

Many seem like scams, maybe they work for some people, maybe they're just placebo. Personally, I think I your best bet is saving your money, and work towards healthy habits that will work for you long term. Will power is like a muscle. it's okay if it's not strong right now. as long as you keep working it out, it will continue to get stronger. You can do it!

@steeplejack if you follow the plan correctly you will hopefully not be so hungry.
by (7.9k points)
@steeplejack So I follow the plan pretty religiously and I still struggle. I find the best part about the appetite suppressant I take is it is helped me learn the difference between hungry and full because I found after all the years of yo-yo dieting I couldn’t tell when I was hungry and I didn’t know when I have enough to eat

I’ve taken prescription and otc. It worked for me when I was younger but I tried to take doctor prescribed Phentermine about 3 years ago and I felt completely paranoid and it felt like my heart was gonna explode!

Wow, that is scary. I certainly wouldn't want that to happen to anyone. Thank you for sharing.

Dexatrim was Midol and half a cup of coffee or 25 mg caffeine. That's a simple pain reliever first. And, yes, it works.

Phentermine is FDA approved for weight loss and has been clinically shown to be effective, although without lasting lifestyle change people do regain the weight. It is most useful to jump start weight loss and gets you used to eating smaller portions, if you can handle the side effects, which can include anxiety and feeling jittery.

I Have been taking Nucific BIO X4 for the past 45 days It is a probiotic that suppresses cravings increases metabolism and enhances gut health. I did a lot of research on this before starting and the doctor that developed it was really very interesting. I am NOT a gullible person by any means but everything she said made sense. I felt a difference in not only my cravings and metabolism but also my bowel movements and my anxiety level was reduced enough to stop my prescription med all this in a matter of 10 days. (recommended 30 days) I am very pleased with the results I have gotten from this supplement. I take 2 every morning but the suggested dosage is 1 3 times a day I am just terrible about taking med throughout the day (I forget) Now if I could just find something to help with this memory thing I would be thrilled.

If you go on them to suppress your appetite and then go off of them you will most likely be back where you started. They are also highly addictive.

Side effects bad. My sister ended up with heart problems. Get off sugar. It's hard! Commit to it for one week and you will not crave sugary stuff after that.
by (2k points)
That is terrible for your sister. That's what I was fearful of since I do have issues with my heart beating faster than normal. Thanks for sharing. Your comment was very helpful.

Drinking water works a treat. Often we mistake thirst for hunger .
