I like Fitbit. App is great and also works with iPhone activity app. Had that until I got the Apple Watch.

My favorite so far is my Garmin Vivosmart Hr. Water proof so I can wear it in the shower and the pool. Only have to charge it once a week, where as I had t charge my Fitbit wvery 3 or 4 days. You can either set manual goals, or use the floating step goal. Links to WW and MFP. Have had it for 3 years now and have had no issues. I did get the screen protectors for it because I'm kind of rough on watches.

I got a very fit pro brand. It was cheap (I want to say under $40), cause I didn't know if it like it or if it would crap out or what. I've had it 2 years I think, it's a waterproof one, I wore it in a mud race & snorkeling and it still works fine. Connects to my LG phone just fine too.
